    The M&A Integration Playbook

    Most M&A value is won or lost in integration. After advising on 50+ transactions, we've identified the patterns that separate successful integrations from value-destroying ones.

    Start planning before the deal closes.
    Integration planning should begin during due diligence. Day-one readiness is non-negotiable.

    Protect the revenue engine.
    The number-one risk in integration is losing customers and key talent. Prioritize customer communication and retention from day one.

    Move fast on culture.
    Cultural integration is the hardest part. Address it explicitly and early — don't hope it resolves itself.

    Set clear governance.
    An Integration Management Office (IMO) with dedicated leadership, clear workstreams, and weekly cadence is essential for accountability and momentum.
